Yes the Smegma is a good lens optically but I've seen the helicoid
grind to a halt in two of these units and quite a few where the focus
scale was well out of alignment.

Ah yes, but it's a big lens for a f5.6 and the corners still show
pretty bad CA when used on DSLR bodies.
