After a couple of weeks of crappy or overcast skies, Comet McNaught was finally visible for a few nights in late January 2007 in western Sydney.
This image was taken from my back paddock while being devoured by mosquitos..... http://members.westnet.com.au/brianwal/PAW/mcnaught.html <pathetic excuse> The comet is now above the horizon for a longer period that when it was first visible but it's further from the sun and fainter. I took this image at low ISO so the comet and stars have moved during the exposure. I probably should have tried a higher ISO but wanted to minimise noise. </pathetic excuse> Details *ist DS *Tamron SP 70-210 mm zoom lens at 210 mm - this is the fastest long lens I have (constant f3.5). f 3.5 @ 20 sec Raw image converted in Silky Pix Lite and post-processed in Adobe Photoshop Elements 1 Not as good as some others posted here - but at least I got a photo!
