Angel, I cannot answer your question about the use of NiMH, because I have yet to try them in my 645n. This is because the alkaline batteries last so long in them. I recall checking with a battery checker just about every time I use my camera after it has sat a while and to be honest I think I have only had to replace the batteries twice in the few years I have owned mine. I even share the batteries between the two bodies I have!
You should be fine with NiMH batteries, but don't feel like you have to use them to save on batteries, the 645n is quite stingy in using them up.
