Coming back from India a few days ago I was sitting next to a man who
immigrated to San Francisco from Russia a decade ago. We started talking
about photography and he said he wanted to scan his old film from Russia but
the developed rolls were stored tightly rolled up. Now the film is brittle
and breaking when he tries to unroll it. He is looking for advice about how
to rescue the negatives. The film is old black and white soviet era film and
he has about a hundred rolls.

Any ideas? Is Bob Shell around?

Thanks, Bill Lawlor
