One of the reasons Pentax went to a proprietary battery was to get away from
battery related problems. The K10 seems good. I have my camera set to draw
from the battery in the grip first, and then the in camera battery second.
When the first battery dies, the camera doesn't swith seamlessly to the
other one, I get a dead battery indicator when battery one dies. When this
happens, turn the camera off and then back on and it switches to the other
battery.
Setting the camera to auto choose which battery it is drawing from
eliminates this, but I like to know when my first battery is dead.
The grip will hold both a spare card and the remote release, which is nice.
A small irritant is that it would be nice to be able to put another card
into the slot that holds the release, but they built the release narrower
than an SD card, so a card wont fit.
