Jco Both the 15mm and the 20m seem very sharp to me. I guess the 15mm shot was focused at the car though, not the brick wall. It's apity the 15mm is so darnde expensive :-) Regards Jens Bladt Nytarkort / Greeting Card: http://www.jensbladt.dk/godtnytaar2007/lydshow.html

C. O'Connell Sent: Saturday, February 24, 2007 10:23 PM To: 'Pentax-Discuss Mail List' Subject: 15mm SMC-Takumar (M42) on istDS, sample shot I finally took a few test "snapshots" with the 15mm F3.5 SMC Takumar (M42) lens on the istDS. http://jchriso.com/temp/15MMF35SMCTSAMPLE01.jpg The image has been tweeked for perspective, distortion, and CA slightly. Overall, no, it's not the sharpest lens in the bag in this application but this wasn't exactly unexpected considering the huge angle this lens is designed for. There is a bit more veiling flare than I like too, but neither are so bad that I am going to go plunge on a new 14mm DA lens for now, as it's not a focal length I would use very often I am sure and this isn't really that bad in my honest opinion if you have the time to tweek the results. FWIW, I did notice my K20/4 is noticably both sharper and shows less flare. Of course, the 20mm is not nearly as wide as the 15mm is either on any camera! jco -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net -- No virus found in this incoming message.
