I havent tried the 17mm f3.5 SP tamron on digital yet but I
will post the results (maybe a comparison to the
RMC Tokina 17mm at same time?) when I do.

That looks quite promising and I hope I will get similar results with
the Tamron SP 17mm 3.5 on the K10D. Could you post a photo with the
Tamron too? thanks, Markus

That is a really big gap between
14 and 20 ( equiv. from 21 to 30mm on FF ).

lets see, to fill that gap between 14
and 20 evenly he would need a ~ 16.75mm
lens, and that would be easily found
in a 17mm which would be close enough.

I dont think Pentax ever made a 17mm
rectilinear lens, but there are third party
models out there, I have them in both
f3.5 RMC tokina and f3.5 AD2 tamron. The tokina works well
on APS, havent tried the tamron yet.
There is also an AT-x tokina 17mm, which I
havent ever used.

FWIW, heres a sample with the RMC tokina 17mm F3.5 on a istDS taken
under heavy overcast skies :

Had one. Didn't like it. Sold it.
I have no problem with the spacings between primes.
