That would be my first thought, too.  A memory-intensive application
such as Lightroom will put more stress on your machine in 30 minutes
than you would otherwise see in a week.  The reported symptoms are
consistent with that, too; if some of the pageable OS code ends up
in the section of memory with intermittent failures then you could
very well end up with a hung system.
