While the caption can be ironic if you know what the Isle of Man's  
reputation in the motorcycle racing world is, my intent was just as  
always: where and when was the exposure made.

The event photographed is an actual competition, part of the  
secondary competitions that generally surround the Isle of Man TT  
Race week along with the several classic shows and exhibiting  
competitions. The participants in this one race these souped-up toy  
micro-motorcycles on a very very tight course at the northern end of  
the Isle in the town of Ramsey.

Although the scene is fairly static due to the 1/1000 second shutter  
speed and the competition is fierce, ultimately the road speeds are  
not particularly high so it is quite a safe form of competition. You  
can see the tires blurring even at this exposure time if you look at  
the larger rendering. These 25-50cc machines don't make enough power  
to break traction or get terribly loose, and ground clearance is  
seriously limited...
