Hi Ralf
Do you use Photoshop to correct the barrel distortion of the A24mm?
And if yes, the lens filter or third party filter or manual transformation?
Thanks and greetings
Markus

Care to hear a second opinion?

The build quality is excellent. A real gem of a lens. Unlike the A1.7/50
mm, it feels heavy and solid. If there is something like a trust
inspiring feel the A 24 mm surely has it.

I like its rendition and the star pattern created by the aperture around
bright lights in my night shots looks totally different and much better
than that of all my other Pentax lenses.

The only drawback I can find is a considerable barrel distortion which
is strong enough to need software correction in my architecture and
industry shots.

Here's a nice example of the star pattern:

With most other lenses, one usually has a few sharp rays extending
outwards with larger dark sections inbetween. Seems to be exactly
reversed with the A 2.8/24.

A question to the resident experts: could this have anything to do with
the position of the aperture?

Ralf
