Hi Michael, The exact same thing happened to mine. I took it in to my dealer who took sent it back to Pentax Germany for repair. Took about 4 weeks for the whole round trip. On the plus side I did not fork out a cent and my dealer loaned me a replacement K10D while mine was out of action.
The factory repair report showed that they had to replace a board to effect the repair.
