Like I said its most likely in the DVD hardware licensing agreements, so its a still a legal issue. the region coding is a benefit to everyone, not just the movie industry, because in general it is usually used to DELAY dvd releases only in the regions where it needs be delayed instead of delaying the release globally.... jco
