I didn't let it wait and tried it out... but the result is not 
completely what I expected.

First, to my own fault, I lost the little ball (what did you expect?). 
Actually, I still have it, but it dropped into the inside of the camera 
and it doesn't come out when holding it upside down. I tried a faint 
attempt to further dismantle it, but for a start the screws in the top 
plate are so stiff, I can't even get them moving. Also I wonder how the 
wind lever can be removed.

Let's hope it won't cause any damage in there...

So now I have the ball and spring removed, but to my disappointment, the 
dial doesn't 'stop' anymore either. It's working, but now it may happen 
that the dial shifts to another position by accident.

I'll give it a try (have no choice), and if it really bothers, I'll try 
another attempt to retreive the little ball and put it back in position. 
The better solution would then be to fix the lock button in pushed 
position with some glue, thus getting rid of the lock 'feature' and 
still keeping advantage of the position stop.
