Ditto. I know quite a few current and ex US military types due to long 
participation on a certain SF/F publisher's webboard. The publisher in 
question is a noted publisher of MilSF with several ex-military authors 
(Baen Books. David Drake, John Ringo and Tom Kratman).

Know one guy who will talk about it, but that's because his only mission 
with 5th SF was public. If they talk about it and their assignment 
wasn't public, they're full of shit.

That said, CIA has run drugs in the past, at least in South-East Asia 
(See Air America). But that predates the 'War on Drugs' as we currently 
know it.
