Having had both, well, for my glasses-shod eyes the MX viewfinder has
too much magnification and too little eye relief. It is nice and
bright. ;-)

The K10D viewfinder is about a half stop brighter than the *ist DS
and the screen has a slightly nicer focusing texture. That said, I'm
probably a little less sensitive to these things than to the overall
viewability of the focusing system for framing .. I have no problems
focusing manually with either, presuming a lens with good wide open
contrast and sharpness is fitted. I find it really annoying when I
have to keep moving my eye around just to see what's in the
viewfinder at the edges rather than being able to take it all in with
a glance.
