Well, like I said in my original mail, I am definitely not only buying them as a tool. I have a 135/2.5 at the moment, which was dirt-cheap, and produces fantastic results.
And yeah, I am definitely into gorgeous looking glass :-) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Digital Image Studio Sent: Tuesday, August 07, 2007 3:48 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: A* 85/1.4, A* 135/1.8 On 07/08/07, Kamiel Wanrooij <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > The only thing is their price. The A*85/1.4 is still probably one of the best fast 85mm lenses made, $1000 is a lot but it is a pretty amazing lens. $2000 for the A*135/1.8 seems over the top, the lens is fast but if you are buying it for performance rather than collectors cache it's probably not money well spent. Wide open it's not all that special so paying for the fast aperture is kind of self defeating, though it's a gorgeous piece of glass to look at if you're into that ;-) -- Rob Studdert HURSTVILLE AUSTRALIA Tel +61-2-9554-4110 UTC(GMT) +10 Hours [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://picasaweb.google.com/distudio/PESO http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~distudio//publications/ Pentax user since 1986, PDMLer since 1998 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
