I did the same thing. I cut a piece of plastic off a plastic box and super 
glued it exactly where the tab is supposed to be. Didn't work. But Sandisk was 
willing to replace the card. (After I removed the glued on tab and photographed 
the card for them. Some retouching was necessary:-).
