Go to the Nikon USA website and look for warranty information regarding US distributor Nikon products outside the USA.
Same for Pentax. The Nikon 18-200 VR lens hasn't been on the market all that long to have reliable statistics available on its durability. If it's like most Nikon lenses, it's probably pretty tough.
