Short answer, Yes.

My 330R, which my wife inherited, never showed this problem before it  
was stolen. I bought a used 330 as a replacement. After a few months  
it started producing images just like the ones you are showing. I  
sent it for Pentax repair, it worked for awhile and then started the  
same thing again. I bought a used 550 from eBay as a replacement;  
after a few months it started producing images just like the ones you  
are showing. I sent it for Pentax repair, it worked for awhile and  
then started the same thing again plus other problems. I suggested a  
750 as a replacement since no 330's or 550's were out there, she  
opted for a Leica DLux-3 instead. Which would be a fine camera if it  
only had a viewfinder...
