Ken, yes, I wish the light was different, too.  It was
an "opportunity shot", though--earlier in the day the
white sailboat blows out completely, and later in the
day everything is in shade.  Most days these boats
aren't moored together, either.

Christian and Brian, I was stupid with the aperture. 
I had been shooting these boats at f/4 in a futile
attempt to blur an other boats and an island in the
background, and forgot to stop down when I began
shooting this group of boats in isolation.  The plane
of focus is about at the splash rail of the sailboat.

Maybe next year I'll have another chance...
