I would say yes. If i travel light, meaning only one camera system, i take the K10D and 16-45, 50-200 and 77Ltd.
Light compact and works well. Yes and additional battery is a must. I now have 6 different Dslr's and all but 2 take a different battery and charger. Real POTA. My charge table is now huge.:-) Stan feels its not compact, but i think its good enough, I found the istD a tad to small and my D1 D2H etc are much larger than both Pentaxes. I think it fits my hand very well, and fell no need for a grip.
