Boris, I haven't used my 280T for quite some time, but I do recall it as
being a pretty decent little flash. On the K10, I expect you will have to
use the thing in auto flash mode, and use the camera in manual exposure
mode. I'm not sure if the flash can be used as a dedicated non TTL flash on
the K10 (or on any camera), but I have my doubts, I don't think the camera
will talk to fhe flash beyond the basic telling it to discharge when the
shutter is fully open.
I tend to agree with Godders that your best bet would be something along the
lines of a Vivitar 285 or similar 3rd party flash. If you can get a
dedicated flash for Pentax that isn't TTL, and will talk to the electronics
in the camera, I think that would be best from an ease of operation POV.
I have my doubts that such a beast exists though, if so you are back to
looking for a non dedicated auto flash (Vivitar 285, etc.)

Don't place any importance on the low GN setting on the 280T. Thyristor auto
flash units only discharge the amount of power required for exposure, and
dump the unused portion back into the capacitor.
Since the flash is only using what it needs to make the exposure, the
recycle times will be as fast as possible, depending on the subject
distance.
I used Vivitar 285 units very successfully during the 1980s when I was
shooting weddings by the score, and don't recall ever having a discharge
failure due to an uncharged capacitor, even during the sometimes rapid
shooting during the processional/recessional.

Hope this helps
