I agree. The doors tell us that these are the front steps of a building. 
Without them, that information is lost. They could be the last few of a hundred 
steps at a park or a monument. But the knowledge that the artist is sitting on 
the front steps of a building helps establish a mood. 
BUT CLONE THE WHITE THING OUT! :-). (Not a bit deal, really. I just felt like 
shouting.:-))
