Fun photo Jack,
We have 5-10 doves that hang around the feeder here.
In summer, you can hear them cooing from the crest of the roof.
I have never seen quite as many stationed on a building at once.
It's got to be a safety thing.  To para-phrase...
You don't have to fly faster than the hawk,
just faster than your buddies to avoid being lunch.
