Hi Mark,

I don't know if you have gotten the solution yet - there are a lot of 
messages around the place.  This is a known bug and it got me a long 
time ago.  the problem is actually with a font which Access can't find a 
license for ans so won't start.  the solution is to delete the font from 
your computer and then Access will work fine.

The font name is hatten.  I have also had problems with a font 
hatten<something>.
