I've seen this feature heavily advertised on Canon and other cams. Today I see a Pentax Optio advertised in the paper, and I see that it, too, has "genuine face recognition".
I no longer have the eyesight of a 20 year old, but I have no problem knowing when I'm looking at a face - either in "real life" or through a viewfinder.
