The Epson 6-color printers use the same colours as the Canon that was mentioned: Black cart = black (duh!) Colour cart = Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, Light Magenta It may interest you that Epson currently have some 7 colour printers available in Japan that use seven separate tanks. They are Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Light Cyan, Light Magenta with a seventh tank that can either hold a second black cart (which enables the printer to print black text at a higher speed) or Dark Yellow (which helps give better photographic reproduction).
