I like the composition but the shadow area of the
instrument are blending with the background, I would
try a lighter background to alleviate that problem.
It's worst at the top valve.

My wife plays the flute, and it is a beautiful
instrument to look at as well as to hear.  I "played
it" photographically.

LR.  the flute was resting on a clean, pressed dark
blue dinner napkin, and lit by a fluorescent light box
covered with a couple of layers of tissue paper.
