Recent conversation with my wife:

Me; How's the wardrobe tidying going, darling?
She: Great, have a look!
Me: Looks good - those new storage units look really good.
She: They do, don't they.
Long pause
She: By the way, do you want to check your camera/
Me: Why?
She: Oh, I just dropped it...
Me, with sinking heart: Where from?
She; Oh, the top shelf.
Me: You mean...
She: Uh-huh.
Me: How far?
She: Oh, all the way, onto the floor.
Me, thinking:The floor! That's six feet onto (carpeted) concrete!
Me, out loud: Oh, Ok...

Checks - not a dint, not a mark, looks at lens (new Sigma 18-35 zoom) - again
not a dint, not a mark.
Switches it on, focuses, shoots single frame of slightly apprehensive-looking
wife, camera does it's stuff, winds on. Shoots another frame with RTF on,
again camera does it's stuff, no problems.

Me: It's fine, darling, no problem.
Wife; Good, now about those shirts...

How can they _be_ so cool!
