but the point was about "standing" or something acronymicly. the X in LX MX
etc is a good example of my point, whilst it may mean "top of the series" or
suchlike, I haven't seen a claim that it stands for something. I guess it's
the same with the S too.

In the Pentax line, a final "X" has meant something.  KX, MX, LX.
