Hi I've owned several variations of the Sigma 70-300, DL, APO Macro, APO Macro Super etc. all were soft at the edge of the frame at 300mm and CA is evident, unlike some of the better APO (EX)lenses where CA's are negligible. IIRC the F70-210 performed better at 200mm than any Sigma I tried in the 70-300 range. IOM the Tamron is a far better lens optically, I'm sorry I waited so long before trying one myself, it remains to be seen if the DA 55-300 is better than the Tamron optically.
