Absolutely nothing (much) to do with photography, but there was a really enjoyable programme on British TV last night about Capt. Sir Richard Francis Burton, who is one of my all-time great heroes - one of the most interesting lives ever lived. I'd like to recommend it to everyone - it's a good introduction to the man.
The programme is about his fascination with sex, and was wonderfully presented by Rupert Everett, who bearded bears a good resemblance to Burton. You can watch it here: http://www.channel4.com/video/brandless-catchup.jsp?vodBrand=the-victo rian-sex-explorer The tenuous link to photography is that I have photographed many of the places that Burton explored. I took this picture (which I've shown before) in Bombay's red light district, where Burton learned many interesting things: www.web-options.com/Saris.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Francis_Burton Bob -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
