Ahh, I've got it now, in order for film to eclipse digital (D30) for prints of up to 10 X 13" we just need to reduce the pixel dimensions of our film scans (to match the resolution of the D30), apply some unsharp masking (as most digital camera post processors do) and then use Genuine Fractals to resize the file for print sizes above 6X9.
