On 4/8/08, AlunFoto, discombobulated, unleashed: >Technology has launched a surprise attack on me... >Back in 2003, in Scotland, I remember Cotty had this special cable >connecting his cellphone to his Mac to use the cellphone as a regular >modem. I did the same via IR connection, and got a transfer rate about >9500 bits per second. The real transfer rate turned out to be lower >because of packet loss. > >My present cellphone is not too happy about connecting via its IR >interface, so I figured I better get some other stuff. A USB thingie >is now connected to my laptop (which is the same as in 2003). It hooks >up to the cellphone network, and must be doing some kinda magic 'cos >the transfer rate is a whopping 1 megabit. Geez... > >I must be getting old. But lucky.
Sitting on the ferry approaching Haugusand (sp) and 3G card in the MacBook. Supposed to be 7 mbps up and 3.5 down, running slower than that but still quick enough :) Will cost me though!!! Yime to go up on deck with a camera.... -- Cheers, Cotty ___/\__ || (O) | People, Places, Pastiche ||=====| http://www.cottysnaps.com _____________________________ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
