Hi Leon I'm currently using the *istD as a lghtweight travel camera with my K20D as the main "serious" camera and the K10D as a backup. I did think of selling the K10D but the prices have fallen off sharp, I'd be lucky to get half what I paid for it new. I wonder how far they can push the technologx, just how many more features can be added and whether I would need anything better than the K20D. I may just replace the camera body when the present one expires for whatever fits the need at the time. I'm not even sure I'd want a full frame 36x24 digital if they made one.

Hi All, I was wondering on this cold and wet weekend as I nurse my cold (Melbourne winters are SO much fun) what I'm going to do with my ever increasing digital SLR collection. It's not really worth while selling them off, but I also don't want to keep them in a cupboard for the rest of eternity. I normally have 2 cameras in operation. A "field" camera, that I won't loose sleep over if it ends up being dropped into sea water and for want of a better term a "studio" camera that I use when the danger is not imminent. The current field camera is an istD, the studio camera is a K10D and I have a retired (or spare) istD doing nothing. I've resisted the K20D simply because I don't want to have too many cameras without a purpose. But the K30D is on the list and at that point I have 2 istD's sitting around. This might be a good time to start playing with stereo photography, all I need is a second of one of the lenses I already own and I'm away. When the K10D is retired it may end up being converted to IR. Given new cameras coming out every couple of years and even buying into every second generation I'm going to drown in cameras eventually if I don't find uses for them. Has anyone else thought of this or already run into the problem? and if so what have you done/plan to do? -- Leon http://www.bluering.org.au http://www.bluering.org.au/leon -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
