Back in 1968, my Dad approved his first mortgage for the newly formed Kinross mortgage, an off shoot from CIBC bank.
One of the first stores to go in was the Monaghan's variety store, 1001 Variety. Last Friday the brothers, who took over from their parents 25 years ago, finally called it quits. This also gave me an idea for a photo shoot. There are stil lots of corner stores and rural variety stores around. I'll be doing a PJ look at them, hopefully over the next while.
