My experience is there is two different 'Left's'. One is the honestly Socialist/Marxist types who have very solid grounded reasons for their belief. The other are folk marxists operating as 'Liberals' and 'Progressives' who seem to prefer a neo-aristocratic system of feel good measures, where everything must be right if the right people with the right attitudes are pushing the right programs, irrespective of whether there's any basis in reality for any of those three suppositions. I respect the former very much. The latter are a big problem as reality doesn't affect them much. -- M.
