Well, I tend to agree with you - all except for the colour. I like my cameras black. But I'm sure there are many - especially those who would not normally buy DSLRs who'd love one in white, blue, green, whatever colour. Certainly it's targeted to the P&S crowd who might be dissatisfied with the quality of their images but don't want a "complicated" or intimidating DSLR. Quite honestly, it's probably a dead-end in so far as most of the purchasers will buy it with the kit 18-55 and never take that off the camera. It really isn't an "entry-level" camera that will lead a serious hobbyist to invest in a Pentax "system"; at best if they like it they may buy a Pentax next time they're looking for a new camera. I doubt that many who buy this will ever buy more lenses or upgrade any time soon until another compelling new technology comes around - whatever the next equivalent to anti-shake might be. Until then they'll be more than happy with their KM in hot pink. ;-) That being said, is anyone else coming out with something like this? Maybe Pentax has actually stumbled on an untapped niche and could sell a boatload of these until everyone else comes up with their versions. This would actually be the perfect camera for my girlfriend Judy. As I said in a post on another thread, she takes a *istD, sets everything to "green", points and shoots and loves it! I think this will sell very well for Pentax. cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
