I'll stick my neck out here and say I think you/we are a bit over enchanted with the idea of the frozen chain. It's newsworthy but kinds stops there... I think the birch trees add to it even though they are a bit too soft.... it loses context with just the chain... and without the original as reference I don't think the closeup tells us clearly what is going on. If I'd seen this one first I'd be scratching my head saying ... hmmm... whats that?? ann ========== What she said. (Mainly, because ann said a lot. :-)). Although the crop is better compositionally, it tells me less of what it is and what is going on. So I still prefer the color one. Although I wish the trees were sharper.
