That's how I thought it worked. I figure that if I post something,
someone will probably spend a certain amount of time looking at it. If
it's a photograph that photo will get more attention than any
particular photo in a gallery.

When I ask for suggestions on a gallery, I'm looking for feedback on
my work as a whole, for example the comment that I should shoot
flowers on cloudier days. And I certainly appreciate the feedback and
experience available here, the camera-fu exhibited by this group can
certainly be humbling.

In general, when I post something, it's not so much asking people for
their time, as saying that I posted some shots the might be fun, so if
you're bored, take a look, and of course feedback is always appreciated.

On the other hand, I make my own guesses about what is considered SOP
on this forum and occasionally put my foot in it. I've learned my
lesson about posting links to auctions, though it seems that it is OK
to bring non-auctions to people's attention. I've also learned that it
seems to be considered impolite to allow a thread to continue on topic
for two long without starting a string of puns, making fun of Cotty,
or preferably, both.

Again, that was my understanding. Likewise I try to use flickriver
rather than flickr because it seems to have a much better interface.
