I've started, as a matter of course in Lightroom, when I see a photo that has potential, to drop into fixed 1:1 crop and move that around the shot a little bit. A whole lot of times I find a really nice composition jumping out at me. And I feel grumpy when the picture forces me to go unsquare. Maybe I'm oversimplifying, but I'd say a virtue of 1:1 is that it subtracts many elements of "shape" and leaves the focus on the picture. I don't know how long my current 1:1 mania will last, but at the moment I'd love to try working with a square sensor. -Tim -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
