I've seen it happen to many a MX. Seems to be (frequently, anyway) a loose wire or cold solder joint. There may be other causes as well. This one is fixable.
"Focal Plane" sync is designed optimally for #6 bulbs. There's a minimal, but apparently real, difference between the variant flash bulb syncs and bulb types. Pentax, as far as I can tell, always used "FP" sync. Other cameras, including my son's Rolleiflex 2.8C and my LF shutter, identify the sync as "M", which would be for #5 bulbs. Isn't history fascinating? :) Collin Date: Wed, 2 Jan 2002 12:39:25 -0600 From: "Paris, Leonard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: MX hot-shoe and X-sync It will sync at all shutter speeds, if you use FP class flash bulbs. That's what FP sync is for. Len - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
