From my reading of the specs, that's the way it works - once you've
pressed that "OK" button once, you're in AF point selection mode.
Not so. When you are in AF point selection mode, you automatically exit it by using any control (including pressing the shutter button halfway), hence you have to press OK again to enter AF point mode again. Then changing the AF point becomes a trial and error game!

Then yes, that is broken.  You need to be able to switch AF points
while composing, and half-press the shutter to check, while staying
in AF selection mode.
