Received the DA 55~300 yesterday PM and gave it a quick R&D check. Both shots taken from my front entryway and from a distance of easily 100yds. Heavy tripod and w/two sec. shutter delay. Warning, each is 'prox 1G. #1 is a full frame and #2 a heavy crop. Both shot in RAW, and given a nudge of "clarity" in ARC. Modest USM applied upon opening. I'm not disappointed with the images. In fact, they pretty much confirm the positive tone of some reviews. I think it deserves the LD element claim. Trying to 'show off' a lens with web size files. :(
