Hi Marnie, It's good to hear that your refurb torment is almost over, I'm just beginning, wish me luck! Those are huge mices, the kind Sylvester the cat grew to hate ;-) > Some very interesting shapes on the beach and beach rock. Such a small patch of rock displayed amazing variation in the formations, the little triangular garden was actually a shot on the top of the pillar picture you like. If I was in a more photographic frame of mind I could have really milked the place, maybe I'll head back there some time, it's all easy to revisit now with the GPS. Thanks Jack, I only shot 240 shot in the seven days and a few of those were pano sequences so I'm happy that there were enough there to make an interesting gallery, glad you enjoyed them. Hi Bob, glad you got something out of them, thanks for commenting. ;-) On 06/08/2009, Igor Roshchin <[email protected]> wrote: > > Rob, > There are some very nice images that I enjoyed. > I particularly like the second flower. > > The first flower also grows in Southern California > (San Diego): > http://www.komkon.org/~igor/PHOTOS/Flowers3/pages/DCP_0152.htm > > I suspect that Australia at some point broke off from Southern California. > :-) Hi Igor, Thanks, that flower is Carpobrotus rossii, locally it's known as Pigface, though I have no idea why. I'm sure we did break off the US some time ago, don't you guys also have Macadamias? ;-) On 06/08/2009, David J Brooks <[email protected]> wrote: > Love the geology shots. Hi Dave, Thanks, it's an amazing place, there are lots of iron rich layers embedded in the sandstone and conglomerates which weather to form the most bizarre shapes. I'll try to dig up some more info on the geology of the area, I'm sure that it would make an interesting read. On 06/08/2009, Christian <[email protected]> wrote: > Nice, Rob. I liked the audio. I'm looking forward to your visit too (and Savage ;-). Will you have the opportunity to do a day trip or two? On 06/08/2009, Joseph McAllister <[email protected]> wrote: > Nice sounds, nice photos. Hi Brian, Thanks for the comments. I've only recently discovered Marramarang NP, beautiful spot, I've covered most of the South coast over the years but this one slipped by for some reason. I have some sunrise panos I shot from the top of Pigeon House in 2007, it's a great walk and a stunning view up and down the coast. Glad you liked em! On 06/08/2009, Cotty <[email protected]> wrote: > Fabulous recording! > > I close my eyes and I am there.... > > Brilliant. Hi Cotty, glad you liked the recording, unfortunately due to the gain that's required wind noise is really an issue, even with a foam shield the slightest breeze gets recorded. I often have to subject the files to a really steep high pass filter at 80hz or so to reduce the wind effects before I can optimise the levels and that's even with a low cut filter on during record. I have a nice pair of high quality condenser mics that have better gain and a higher max SPL which I should use but they are just such a pain to set up compared with the integrated mics. You can see details on the recorder here: http://www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/h4n/ Check out the record sample at http://www.zoomh4.net/h4n I've put another sample on line for your listing pleasure, you can loop it and listen as long as you like ;-) http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~distudio/mp3/090802-002-loop.mp3 Thanks for the comments everyone!
