The original concept, (yes I actually do plan these shots a bit ahead of
time), was to leave the figure in silhouette, but I wanted to get some
detail in the stone retaining wall/dock. When I lightened up the wall,
I discovered that the young woman made for a nice bright focal point.
So I decided to bring out some detail and color in her, which lead to
the dock becoming too bright, so I adjusted contrast with curves. Now
she was too dark again. I made a new curves adjustment, the girls figure
is back the dock is OK but now the islands and boats are getting washed
out. Sheesh, this was just supposed to be a throwaway, PESO. So to
make a long story short this became a major project. Multiple
adjustment layers and still I can see people not liking it. But I spent
the entire early evening working on it so I'm going to post it anyway.

The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or
drinking; he can ruin himself with gambling. If he does he is certainly a damn
fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a
free man any more than a dog.
