I would add it's a matter of supply.  The F series lenses had a short
production life.  The original autofocus SF1 or SFX were not  popular.
 Pentax was a bit behind the marketplace here (slow AF & noisey).  The
next generation PZ-1 camera series saw the introduction of the FA
series lenses and lasted a lot longer.  So I expect the number of
F50/1.4 lens produced is much lower than the FA50/1.4 production.
I am lucky to have an F50/1.7.  I would love to find an F50/1.4 but
haven't seen one for sale in years.
