Thanks for looking and commenting, all of you! I heard the occasional gunfire, but no banjos. :-) Guess the locals took out their tensions on the reindeer population.
I suspect the most common bird of prey in the area is the Great Grey Owl. I saw one from a distance about half an hour after taking this pic, but it flew up at a distance of about 100 m.
