I've written to an English-speaking Russian who sells the M42 version everyday for $199 shipped (http://www.geocities.com/belshop/index.html), asking him what he knows about this. I'll report his reply. There remains my unanswered question about how someone else can be selling Sigma 8/3.5 PKAs on EBay for under $200.
