I have recently taken some photos by this lens (mostly at f/8). It is a
latest MC version and give a sharp image (in my personal view). But I don't
know whether it is little soft at wider aperture (it would be right if you
compare it with some highly regarded 85mm lens). I think it may be a good
choice because of the cheap price in ebay. I bought one after seeing some
photo samples on the web. I could give you the photos if you wish. Please
give me an email off-list.

Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge of this lens? I have heard
that it is a little soft, but for my purposes (portrait) soft isn't
necessarily bad.
